Meet The Principal
Dear Mokler Families,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We are fast approaching our new school year, and I hope everyone is enjoying the last moments of summer. We are excited for everyone to return to school, and if you are new to the Mokler community, we would like to welcome you to our family.
This will be my first year at Mokler and I have quickly learned that our community, school, staff, and (soon to learn our students) are unparalleled. I am proud to represent this school, and thankful for the support from the Pilots community. We have many things to celebrate as we take flight into the 2025-26 school year, including the adoption of the new English/Language Arts (ELA) curriculum, HMH, which will be implemented across all schools this year. We will also continue our Universal Access program, which provides intervention and enrichment for all students! We look forward to continuing to provide high-quality instruction for all our learners.
We have some new staff members joining us at Mokler. Allow me to update you on those staffing changes. First, we would like to welcome Ms. Patricia Laguna Robles, who will teach TK/Kindergarten SDC. Ms. Robles comes to Mokler with a stellar reputation for providing her students with a fantastic educational experience. We also welcome Ms. Mayra Aguilar, our new administrative assistant, as our previous administrative assistant, Ms. Janice Calloway, is stepping into the wonderful world of retirement. We wish her the best and we welcome Ms. Aguilar to our office team.
Finally, we look forward to welcoming our teachers who moved grade levels this year. Ms. Song will be teaching Kindergarten, Ms. Rodriguez will be teaching TK, Ms. Cabrera will be teaching 1st grade, Ms. Jones will be teaching 5th grade, and Ms. Batres-Botello will be teaching 4th grade.
Please join me in extending a warm welcome to the newest members of the Mokler family!
Our goal at Mokler is always to provide a high-quality education in an environment where students feel valued, challenged, connected, and can thrive. This year, one way we will aim to reach those goals is through the implementation of the newly adopted ELA curriculum, HMH. Our teachers have been hard at work this summer learning the new curriculum and lesson planning so that your child can reap the benefits of this highly rigorous curriculum. The Mokler teachers will continue to refine their instructional practices throughout this school year to meet the needs of all students. Finally, our staff and support staff will continue to focus on the social-emotional well-being of y(our) students, as the research clearly shows that students are more likely to perform better academically when they feel connected to their school and build relationships with their teachers.
Finally, please show your appreciation for our amazing teachers and staff, whenever you can, as you will not find a more dedicated staff than here at Mokler. Whether it is a simple note or email, these small gestures go a long way to show our gratitude to our teachers and staff.
Below are a few events prior to the start of the school year at which we hope to see you.
I am incredibly fortunate to be at Mokler and I am looking forward to an amazing year with a focus on student learning, risk-taking, and strengthening our commitment to our community. Please email/call if you have questions or concerns. Thank you for your partnership.
Sincerely,
Mr. Estrada
Principal
